Indoor or outdoor pizza oven? Choose the location first

Updated October 3, 2026 · Manufacturer-based guide; not a hands-on review.

Step 1: name the actual space

Write down where the oven would sit: a kitchen counter, an open yard or another location. “Outdoor” on a product label is a use restriction, not a suggestion. Follow its manual.

Step 2: check permission

Check your landlord, condominium or building rules before selecting a gas setup. A balcony is not automatically an approved location. For electric models, check the manufacturer’s clearance and power requirements.

Step 3: match the oven category

The two models in our comparison serve different locations: Koda 2 outdoors; Volt 2 indoors. Electricity alone does not prove that another model is suitable indoors—check its own rating and instructions.

Step 4: think through a normal evening

Consider setup and storage, access to ingredients, weather for an outdoor session and cleaning after use. Choose the location you can comfortably use rather than an aspirational setup you rarely use.

Step 5: verify before ordering

Read the retailer’s product page and manual, then confirm the exact model, included parts, delivered price and return policy. Buy only once the setup requirements are clear.
